Rob is futsal's biggest supporter so I anticipate rules will be futsal.

 Monday Premier League

Youngs' Seafoods' 8 Gy Institute 4. Tight game until half time then, as so often happens when new teams go a couple of goals behind against experienced opposition, the team defencive frailties are exposed as the team has to change its game plan to attack. Dan O'Hare was pivotal to a composed Youngs' performance.

Shamrock always have a game plan, Gy Catalonia used to have a game plan; currently it's hampered by new faces gelling to futsal and old players returning from injury.  Shamrock was always to composed for 'Cats.'

JOMA Premier League Cup

Refereed this one a second official to Dean Gladwell. By half time I could see a match report developing as underdogs Newton Heath was defending brilliantly and notching goals on the break; a shock was on the cards. Newtons 4 FR 2 at H/T.  Credit to Fulstow, they stuck to their possession game using GK Liam Highton at every opportunity as they probed for 'killer openings.' The last quarter saw a Newton's collapse to 4-9.

 Tuesday League

Franklin College 11 Potential 4. Not the full story, Franklin had 4 FCGY players, Matt Horner, Peter Schoefield, Steve Goodwin and Sam Brooks.

Picture captures ball bouncing off the Franklin College cross bar after a Potential player had lobbed ball from nearly his own area after GK Steve Goowin had been caught supporting his outfield.

Clee Wanders v Biffa share 10 goals.

Joma Tuesday League Cup Final

El Dogo's 5 Madrid Futsal 1

The score line only tells half of the story; Madrid are the strongest youth team the GFL has seen to date. Three Madrid players have played for FCGY.  El Dogoe's had futsal experience in abundance, not least England star Ben Mortlock.

After conceding an early goal Madrid settled to dominate the ball for long periods. Adam Cooper's El d's was prepared to sit and wait, content  their defencive strategy was better than the youthful Madrid's attack strategy.  Warning signs was missed by Madrid as El d's either missed or called into action Liam Highton to make superlative saves to keep score level.  That luck ran out as El Dogo's ran in 3 late, excellently engineered, tap in goals to take a 3-1 H/T lead.

El Dogo's was content at 3-1 to sit deep and let Madrid come at them, within minutes it reaped rewards when Lee Walch finished a neat passing counter attack.

Madrid at this point had met their masters, they tried to force the game but their older stronger counter parts always had the edge.

'Jam' scored a great solo goal (5-1);  L Highton scored a consolation volley.

The Grimsby League has moved up several notches when 2 Tuesday teams can serve up this level futsal.

Game was brilliantly controlled by Danny Durrosimo.

Given the choice of team trophies or a £100 JOMA voucher the winners have taken the £100

 Bench Warmers

 Kent St. Thursday League

Performance of week - Bench Warmers 8 Clee Futsal 7.

Both teams went into the game without a win, BW with no win in previous 11 and newcomers Clee Futsal no win in their opening 2 games.  Clee just could not get started and by half time had fallen behind 4-1.  Heady territory for BW.  The second half was a different story; Clee changed tactics and switched GK's. 2-4 and they had a glimmer, that door was shut with a BW goal (2-5) and then another to restore BW's 4 goal half time parity.  From 2-6 the game swung Clee's way, until scores was level 7-7.

With the clock on its last gasp to full time Bench Warmer cleverly created a tap in goal to retrieve a victory they had conspired to lose.

Credit to both teams for a sportingly played match that had some great skill considering it was a 'wooden spoon' match.

Player of the game and one of the performances of the week Lee Smith (BW).
