Willows Valiant 7 YMCA Futsal 1

Encouraging start for YMCA, having a team and a player on the bench is always a good start.  As expected Valiant was dominate, playing as a unit with every play futsal savvy.  YMCA by contrast had one player playing his first game of futsal, enough to throw a spanner in the works.  5-0 at half time it was a pleasant surprise that YMCA did not collapse but managed to lose the second period by 2-1.  The goal annoying Valiant who was intent on a clean sheet.

Trawl 5 El Dogo’s 7

Let me get the bad news out of the way first.  This game had too many fouls, most as a result of poor defending; defending is an art just as dribbling is an attacking art.  Tackle from behind, go in to strongly, barge and expect a whistle.  Defending is about cutting off the opponents’ opportunities to attack, this often requires patience, a missing commodity.

The goals scored were the best ‘batch of goals’ I have witnessed in any game.  Stunning play, goal after goal.

1-0, 1-1 to 5-5 then with minutes left 6-5 to El Dogo’s, could Trawl respond, almost.  In their endeavour to score El Dogo’s broke and opened the first two goal advantage in the game.  The whistle ended the game as the ball hit the net.

Important game law, please note:

When El Dogo’s scored in the last seconds it was within the allotted game time.  If the player breaking had moved over the 20 minutes game time the referee is instructed to allow play to continue until the end of that move.  If the player breaking shoots and scores it’s a goal.  If he passes and the receiver nets it is not a gaol.  The move ends when the player breaking passes the ball.  If in the initial move the keeper saves and pushes the ball out to another player to score, again the move ended on the save.
