Monday Premier League

Wednesday League

Just one game and from the calls I have had, a game that ended in confusion.

Until I get the referees score and report was the last kick a  gaol or not?  The ball was in the net , but when did the whistle blow?

The end result?  Referee  Dean Gladwell reviewed FIFA's recent rule changes and accepted that 'the goal' was legitimate.  Catalonia accepted the Youngs' had scored a legitimate goal and that it should stand.

The sportsmanship in reaching this conclusion is to be commended.

What caused all the fuss?  Catalonia had equalised with seconds on the clock, Youngs' took the kick off and attacked, under the old rules the whistle would have blown when time was up. Under the new rule the attacking phase of play has to finish.  If the ball hits the cross bar and then finishes up in the back of the net, the game finished when the ball hit the cross bar. The ball hits the GK and rebounds off another player into the goal, no goal, the game finished when the ball hit the GK.  The ball flies into the net without touching anyone, its a gaol, and this is what Danny O'Hare had done.

A rule designed to create goals, but fraught with controversy for the referee who has to disallow that follow up shot off the cross bar.

El Dogoes take title with comprehensive win over Madrid.

Trawl finish 3rd with  win over Clee Wanders.  Positive for Clee Wanderers the -6 goal difference in game meant Potential finished bottom.

Franklin College won first game of League XVII beating a strong StreetSoccer 7-2.

The Tuesday League is reaching new standards, the winners of League XVII is anyone from 6 teams.

BBS stay top with Newton Heath breathing down their neck.  Newton conceded 6 points when team had player difficulties, now back under Dan rodger control the prospect of getting a third star against team name is a possibility.  Newton are 6 points behind BBS with a game in hand and BBS to play. At going to press both teams have exactly the same goal difference.  Both teams won this week.

Trawl and Blaine won the other two games by one goal margins.

Novartis Junior League under 11's  School year 9 futsal
 Kent St Thursday League

Where to start, first game was GSC Tigers (3rd and paced and waiting for slip ups)  vs.

GSC Elite (neck and neck with East Coast Lions A at top). 6-6  Next game on was East Coast Lions A vs. New Waltham (mid table). New Waltham 7- ECL 2.  A result no one saw coming.  Little Devils then beat ECL B 7-4.  Where does it leave the League.  If GSC Panthers win their game in hand it leaves 5 teams separated by 2 points, with Elite having played one game less. This after 14 games!

Have you a team that will play Humberstone Futsal?

The lads are playing some great futsal, but need fresh opposition.

Inbetweeners implode and fail for the second week to get a team out.  Cost to them in fines and fees will be substantial.  Everglaze are Champions without playing a final show down game against Inbetweeners.  Disappointing that we was deprived of a 'winner takes all game.'

The new Thursday League starts next week, East Marsh inter is taking Inbetweeners league place, other new teams are welcome.
