Tuesday Futsal

Cup - Qaulifying Round

Shamrock 8 New All Stars 0

Trawl 8 El Dogo's 5
StreetSoccer 5 Wed' All Stars 1 Willows Valiant 10 Clee Wanderers 3
Teams collided in the league last week and Shamrock won comfortably; augmented by Paul Goodhand Shamrock went into game strong favourites, and so it proved.

Shock  of the season, at 4PM Trawl was seeking a postponement as short of players. A request refused as there was no way of organising a substitute game.

How Chris Gittens went from having no team at 4PM to beating table toppers El Dogoes  at 7PM is Alex Ferguson management.

I do know from a conversation with Chris he was mighty pleased to have persevered to get a team out, and to have managed such a result.

El Dogo's had lost one match in previous thirteen.     Foot in mouth

Gavin Broughton's GRS represented Wed' League for fixture.

GRS have moved up a notch last twelve months, giving all opposition a solid opposition.

Deserve better results.

No discredit to Valiant, Clee had to field a weakened team, Valiant did what they had to, beat the opposition in-front of them.

Valiant are undefeated in 7, the rest of the league is back to zero or at best one.

 Wednesday Futsal

Newton Heath 4 AFC Trawlermen 2

 GY Saxons 4 Blaine 12

Cup - Qaulifying Round

 Scartholonia 7 Fresh 9

 OWKN 7 Weight Watchers 2

The Trawlermen held the game close for a long period at 2-2.

Table toppers Newtons just found that extra yard top keep a healthy gap at the top.

Blaine dominated after a shock Saxon goal gave them a 1-0 lead.

Craig Norman netted three for Blaine.

Fresh spend most of the game comfortably in the lead, the final whistle denied  a later Scartho rally.

These teams have played twice in recent weeks, on both occasions Steve Goodwin has denied a Weight Watchers team that otherwise would have taken something out of the game.
