Discoveries Titans 4 Humberstone Futsal 2

Humberstone was ‘to up for this match.’  As referee it was one of those games you could almost cut the intensity, not a bad thing on most occasions, but on this occasion it reflected in a Humberstone drop in performance.  ‘Will to win’ can only ever be 100%, when both teams are 100% tactics and game strategy take you over the finishing line. Titans wan the tactical battle.  Humberstone put the effort in but chased the game too early, they did not need to, and as a result Titans picked them off.

3-0 at half time.

Titans struck a body blow immediately after half time to take the game out of Humberstone reach.  To Humberstone credit they never gave in and clawed back to 4-2 only to be beaten by the clock.

Titans played ‘proper futsal,’ passing intricately easing the ball past the keeper to score.  Humberstone was shooting from distance, which forced some great saves but lost them passion at same time.

HAFC 4 Toll Bar 4

Middle of the court was won by Toll Bar, the reason teams ended level was that HAFC had a cutting edge, whilst Toll Bar squandered chances.  Late goals saved Toll Bar.

Both chances had big chances in a hectic last minute when the game could have ended 5-4 to either team twice each.  The final dram was a stunning HAFC save onto the bar and a second save as the ball was falling over the line.  For either team to lose in that last minute would have ben cruel to opposition.

Crowland Athletic 0 FC United 21

Signs that Crowland can reduce score deficits even lower.  One has to admire the team’s tenacity to take the hidings without giving up trying for that elusive goal.  I am not forecasting an imminent win, but from what I witnessed losses will get more respectable, after that, ‘who knows.’
