Anybody with a passion for Football in the Sheffield & Hallamshire FA region will be pleased to hear that The Football Association have officially launched England Football Day.

England Football Day is timed perfectly to coincide with the World Cup Finals in South Africa. The nations will be gripped with excited for the competition and the start of the England teams World Cup campaign.

England Football Day will take place on Saturday 12th June 2010 to coincide with England’s first group game against the USA.  To celebrate this national occasion The Football Association and Sheffield & Hallamshire FA are encouraging affiliated clubs, schools, groups and organisations from across the region to get involved and hold a festival or event to celebrate England Football Day and attract more people into clubs.

Festival organisers can hold an event on any day that they choose or if you already have an event planned why not make England Football Day part of these arrangements! 

James Hope-Gill, Chief Executive for Sheffield & Hallamshire FA said “England Football Day is a great opportunity to bring the game of football and the community together to celebrate the beautiful game.  Hosting festivals and events across the county will hopefully encourage more people to play and get involved with football.

There are already a number of events being held within the Sheffield & Hallamshire FA that are posted on the above site.

All festivals registered onto the England Football Day website will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win £500 of equipment for your club/organisation.

There will be a total of 8 winners, 1 from each region.

Clubs/organisers have to uploaded their event onto the website to be entered into the draw
