Expression of Interest (EOI)

Following the highly successful staging of the 2008 FA UMBRO Futsal Youth Festival held at the English Institute of Sport (EIS) in Sheffield the 2009 event promises to be hugely popular.

The event will once again be held at EIS in Sheffield over the weekend of 27th – 28th June 2009 and is open to the following age groups:

  • Under 10’s Boys / Under 10’s Girls
  • Under 12’s Boys / Under 12’s Girls
  • Under 14’s Boys / Under 14’s Girls
  • Under 16’s Boys / Under 16’s Girl’s
The FA anticipates significant interest in the event and is seeking applications for teams wishing to participate in the Festival. It is likely that the event will be oversubscribed in most age groups and therefore all expressions of interest will be viewed by the Local Organising Committee who will determine entry into the competition based on the following criteria:

  • Teams with Charter Standard or Focus Schools status
  • Teams playing regular Futsal – e.g. Leagues / Competitions / Festivals
  • Teams that have previous involvement in FA and / or County FA Futsal development programmes
  • Teams that have previously played in the National Youth Futsal Festival

Please note that:

  • County FA’s may nominate teams or teams may enter independently but in both instances the form must be completed.
  • Should County FA’s wish to nominate a winner from a County competition that has not yet taken part, then they need to provide some information on the structure of their competition – e.g. we are running a Girls’ Under 12’s Festival on x date and we anticipate x number of teams taking part.
  • The Festival is only open to teams affiliated to their local County / Schools FA.
  • Centres of Excellence (male and female) and Academies (male) are not eligible to enter teams into the Festival.
  • Entry will not be awarded on a ‘first come first served’ basis.  All applications that are received by the deadline date will be viewed on merit.

Please complete the following form to the best of your ability and return by either e mail or post to the following:

All applications for consideration must be received by Friday 20th March 2009.

All teams will be notified of their entry by Friday 24th April 2009.

Teams that are not successful will be placed on a reserve list should those teams who are awarded places not be able to travel to Sheffield.
