 El Dogoes 7 StreetSoccer 6
Willows Valiant 5 Shamrock 2

Clee Wanderers 4 Wednesday All Stars 1
Score does not tell full story, StreetSoccer was always behind chasing game.

Both teams badly open to counter attack, something that will cost El Dogoes against high calibre opposition at next weeks FA Futsal Cup qualifier.

With the ball both teams caused each other problems, without the ball play was not to same standard.

Steve Goodwin scored his party piece goal, a save dispatched into his opposite numbers net.  Dan Taylor was strangely subdued for StreetSoccer whilst 'Burger' controlled game for El Dogoes.

Eleven fouls after only fifteen minutes tells the story of a tetchy opening. A Valiant free shot on goal missed (16 mins for a 6th foul by Shamrock) . Shamrock had new signings but they never mastered futsal is not five aside.  Valiant had a team of experienced futsal players and that was the big difference.  Valiant 'Skoda' abetted by Dale Mason was the three goal difference.

clee_wanderers.jpg  Clee faces told an end of game story, the older team had to dig deep for this win.  The younger Scartholonia dragged them all over the court, Clee just had the experience to contain them and take goals as and when an opportunity arose.

Scartholonia had equalised one all with a stunning back post pass and finish, to be bettered by the best move of the night, a reverse pass from Jenkins to setting up Phil Wakefield for a top corner volley, that gave the pass the finish it deserved.

Clee Wanderers

 All Cup games:

StreetSoccer 6 GRS All Stars 5.

AFC Trawlermen 3 Grimsby Soccer Club 5 Barca 4 Blaine 4 ( Blaine won 3-1 on penalties)
Newton Heath 10 OWKN 0
Game was nip and tuck the full forty minutes.  GRS had the larger squad but could not use it to full advantage.  At 5-3 and ten to go StreetSoccer looked assured a win.  GRS dug in at this point and levelled to 5-5 with one minute left.  No team deserved to lose, but being cup, if it wasn't a goal it was penalties to decide.

Scott Harris who had edged Jon Highton for man of the match created that one big chance, Adam Bly buried it.  Game over.

Great advert for futsal.
GSC getting a roll of results since they have moved off the smaller Kent Street pitch.

A below strength Trawl took an early lead that GSC erased with two breakaway goals before half time.

after the break GSC always controlled the game.

Blaine had chances to 'put game to bed' but squandered chances, this nearly came back to haunt them, with a two goal lead and five minutes to go Blaine found themselves 4-4 and a penalty lottery.

kieron_blaine_2011.jpgFortunately they was good at penalties and went through 3-1.

With a bare five players Weight Watchers have to be commended for an excellent all-round performance.  Dale P', believed to be in a Holten Clay pub could have been the difference for his team.

Newton are on track for third Wednesday Championship, teams need to be on their game to play them.

Politely OWKN never turned up.

OWKN have fallen away as cricket season has overlapped futsal season.
