Discoveries 4 Futsal Tigers 6
Several games followed a pattern
of one team opening a defendable gap and then being drawn back.
Discoveries shocked Futsal Tigers,
taking a 3-0 lead early in the game to then go in at half time a goal
behind. They levelled to 4-4, and then
lost to two late goals.
If all Discoveries team had
followed the example of Liam Weatherill then the result could have tipped the
other way. Kobi Leyland bagged four for
the Tigers.
Lions Pride 4 Little Devils 8
Little Devils opened up with
three goals in three minutes, Lions Pride fought back to 3-3. 4-4 half time.
Second period Little Devils
learnt from their lapses, stepped up their game and scored four without
conceding.
Jack Boswell (LD) and Tom Balford
(LP) were excellent.
Red Dragons 4 Futsal Panthers 5
When table toppers Futsal
Panthers went 4-0 without reply a cricket score was anticipated, unbelievably goal
by gaol Red Dragons pulled the game back to 3-4 and with minutes of the second
half levelled.
The last third of the game was
anyone’s, both keepers made great saves, both teams missed chances.
With the clock moving to 30
minutes Panthers draw blood, a fate Red Dragons did not deserve, their fight
back had to be worth a point at least.
Negative of the game was the poor
goal keeping distribution, maybe necessary for Dragons to stem a goal tide, but
not good advertising for futsal when you have players on field capable of great
passing and movement.
Fusion 2 Elite 2
Both teams got locked into a cant
lose – want lose midfield battle. Creativity
was stifled before it had time to blossom.
Neither side gave opposition time
or space to pay. This can happen in
futsal, not all games are beautiful pass and move adverts for the game. The score tells it all, a tight low scoring
game. Fusion had a free shot from the 10
metre mark saved after Elite conceded a fourth second half foul.
