In the junior futsal under 10 league New Waltham rattled Grimsby Soccer Club Tigers.
New Waltham scored in their first attack with a brilliant passing move
that had them 1-0 up before most of their opponents had touched the
ball. 1-1, 2-1 (Waltham), 2-2, finally 3-2(GSC). What the score does
not show is the number of times Waltham hit a post with the keeper
beaten. Waltham's superb short passing game deserved at least a point,
they were a credit to how the game should be played. Excellent
refereeing and an audience of supportive parents made for a great game;
well worth enduring the cold to watch.
Top junior under 10 team, Breakaways, continued at the top with an emphatic 8-0 win against Lightening Lads.
At Kent Street Chiefs and Grimsby Soccer Club battled out a great 4-4 draw whilst North Somercotes beat leaders Inbetweeners with the odd goal in 9.
After some serious consideration team of the week is Grimsby Catalolonia who beat a very strong Fulstow Rovers team that was not expected to lose.
