Assistant Grimsby manager and top scorer in the FA League North, Mathew Payne has taken up the opportunity to transfer to table leaders Middlesborough.  He has the full backing of myself, and I hope the team, to accept the challenge they offered, in what we trust will be a short term move to the advantage of all concerned.

Mathew is unavailable for the final 2 Grimsby games due to work commitments, were as he can play Boro's last 2 games, cement his record as leagues top scorer, and if the cards fall as they should, leave himself with an opportunity to play in the FA North/South/Midlands play off were he will be watched by the England coaching staff playing against the next best 2 teams in England.

Matt will learn more in those 2 games, the opposition will be prodimnatly Brazilian, than playing 2 seasons in the GFL.
