London community football team wins FTD and Co-operative competition

Co-operative Presentation

London based grass roots community football club London APSA have bagged themselves some new training equipment courtesy of The Co-operative Insurance and the Football Trade Directory.

The Co-operative Insurance and Football Trade Directory worked together to include the competition to win the training gear in the footballtradedirectory.com e-newsletter, which goes out to over 20,000 clubs in the UK.

From hundreds of entrants London APSA were the lucky winners and received a Co-operative Insurance  Big Blue Bag of football equipment. The fantastic prize includes two multi-surface portable goals, corner posts and flags, Co-operative Insurance Cup training bibs and two footballs. It all comes in two Co-operative Insurance compact bags that fit easily across the backseat of a car and can be comfortably carried.

Football Trade Directory managing director George Moss and Rebecca Wearing, assistant manager at The Co-operative Bank branch at Walthamstow, made the presentation to officials from London APSA.

London APSA vice chairman Anjum Khan commented: “We are delighted to receive this great equipment.  It is great news The Co-operative Insurance and its sister company The Co-operative  Bank are supporting grass roots and more should follow suit.”

Rebecca Wearing from The Co-operative Bank said: “The Co-operative Bank is proud to support grass roots football with teams that work across the community.

Football Trade Directory managing director George Moss added:  “The Co-operative Bank community initiatives to provide much needed equipment across all sectors of grass roots football has never been as important as we look to rebuild the game after the disappointment of the national team in South Africa.  As a business we applaud their efforts. London APSA are worthy winners.

This competition forms part of The Co-operative Insurance Grassroots Programme which has donated kits to over 3,700 junior football teams and provided football coaching for more than 16,500 children since it was launched in 1999.

This latest competition from Footballtradedirectory.com represents their continued commitment to grass roots football, with over 28,000 clubs registered on the site, all benefitting from free access to a range of football services from kit suppliers to pitch maintenance.
