LFA asked to amend transfer rules Print E-mail

The following text is a precis of a letter sent to LFA to ask them to amend the GFL transfer rules.  The reasons for the request are self explanatory.   The rule will apply only if sanctioned by LFA.  If it is not allowed during current set of leagues I will make sure it is incorporated in next set of updated rules for new leagues.

Currently no transfers are allowed during a competition.

This has caused a couple of problems were players have played for a team, then not been wanted, leaving them unable to play in that league for another team.

With some of the leagues being 10 teams this can mean a long wait.  Given that the league is providing a social as well as football service I would like an amendment that:

If a player is no longer required by a team they can release the player.  The league will have a ‘release form’ for the team to sign.

If there is any dispute the matter will go to the league committee for adjudication.

Thanking you for your help and advice on this matter.
