Just have to mention the FC Grimsby training performance at Hull. Due to a transport let down I only managed to take 4 players to play against Hull Gemtec and some serious new futsal players.
We started by borrowing a keeper and from then on it was down to Danny Hornigold, Scott Harriss, Kirk Russell and Craig Norman. They exceeded all expectations. Their team work passing and defending was equal or better than anything I have yet seen from a Grimsby team, the fact that they upheld the standard for an hour and a half (with odd changer over breaks) speaks volumns for their personal fitness.
Yes one opposition team was newcomers but the other was a team of experienced ex professional footballers, very profficient at futsal.
What started out as a midigation in disaster turned out to be a real bonus evening.
