Futsal Panthers 4 Fusion 0
Fusion would have liked to take their summer sabbatical on
the back of a win, as it is they have to be content with top spot.
Newcomers to the league are at a ‘futsal’ disadvantage as
the game and tactics are different from mini soccer or eleven aside the team
would be experienced at, to be top is highly commendable.
Can Fusion take the strain of the chasing pack?
Panthers have two games in hand, win both and they are top,
games in hand are not often points in waiting.

GSC Dynamite 1 Red Dragons 1
I watched the first half of this game, and was surprised when
I read final score was the second draw of the evening. Both teams had first half chances, but just
as in previous game goal keepers are lifting their game. Half chances are being smothered by keepers
before attackers can get a shot off.
Lewis Collins (YMCA).
Brilliant goal scored from a lob over the GK off a throw from his own
GK. Ball did not touch floor from one end to opposite net.

YMCA Spartans 3 Elite 3
Elite after winning the inaugural league have got off to a
poor start with two losses and one draw in first six matches, leaving them at
the basement end of the table.
Never less this was a stiff test for YMCA, a team that is
still in early stages of deployment. The Elite squad game into the game on the
back of winning the weekend Appleby Frodingham five aside tournaments.
For the uninitiated watching this was a great example and
advert for futsal. Every player was looking
to pass short first, long second, almost never aimless. Defenders were
stretched to break up fast skilful counter attacks, backed by solid goal
keeping if the defence was breached. The keepers helped the outfield players and
the game with some brilliant distribution.
The Spartans performance exceeded Coach Kevin Bryant’s best
expectations after so few games together.
