Week 18 was an abbreviated programme due to lost Bank holiday matches.  The performances of the week was the FC Grimsby futsal team who left Grimsby at 7am the Sunday with a heavily weakened team (6 players), but played with a great attitude knowing that their cause was at best 'damage limitation.'  They lost to the second best futsal team in England (Tranmere Victoria) , but did not discredit themselves.

Market Hotel get the nod over them for winning the inaugural Thursday League first round at Kent Street.  8 teams played for the 1 place to go into the last round against the best 3 seeded teams. Market Hotel was best of the 8 teams.

Week 19  Grimsby Institute Performance of Week goes to Tuesday League Trawl.  This was a game I refereed, so watched the whole dram unfold.  I love teams that dig in deep and respect the art of defence.  Trawl had to do this most of game, but on the occasion's they got the ball they broke with such speed and precision El Dogoes had no answers.  Even when reduced to 4 men for 2 minutes after a red card for a deliberate hand ball offence, they mustered the troops and against the odds scored playing 4 v 5.  This was all achieved against an 'on paper' strong El Dogoes side.  The final score was 6-4 to Trawl, for most of the game there was 1 goal in it either way, the game went to the last seconds before Trawl was safely home.
