After leaving grimsby at 7:30am for york to be there for 10:00am was an achievement in itself! Catalonia don't get out of bed before 8:45pm games usually!

They was due on 1st to play a very experianced middlesborough side, 2 minutes to kickoff & adreneline burning through the viens of the catalan camp, Every player well up for a day of futsal when.... Middlesborough team captain informed myself that they did not manage to get a team out & would not be participating in the tournament, Relief and frustration as Catalonia had just warmed up. It would be the easiest 3 points of the day & they knew it. They went & had a game of doubles outside on the astro turf to relive some stress.

2nd game got off to a flyer vs Albert Park Futsal club, Lee Austwick got them on the score sheet with a wonder flick on header from a long keeper throw 1-0, Then from no were, Jodie hanslip scores a hat-trick on the bounce, Crushing albert park who managed to pull it back to 2-5.

3rd group stage game Vs Futsal UY, A young university team, The Experience from the Catalan Veterans saw off Futsal UY with some excellent distribution from Catalonia Keeper ' Barney' And a top draw save onto the cross bar that would of made Deano proud! Carl kyme showed excellent form coming back from injury to win Cats a penalty, Shaun Gladwell stepped up after being out injured for over a year with a Tibia/Fibia break only to put the ball right in the top corner giving the keeper no chance. His 1st goal in over year, His response was ''FORM IS TEMPORARY, CLASS IS PERMANANT''. With 2 other goals from Lee austwick Catalonia sailed through to win the group stage & reach the Quarter finals.

Cats had little left in the tank by this time & was respectively beaten by RGBs who was top class, Every player was as skillful as the last, Simon taylor who was Catalonia's defenive rock throughout the day pulled his groin early on & could not go on. Best move of the game came from Catalonia who from a long throw to Carl Kyme on the edge of the box brought the ball down with a deat touch to set up Lee austwick who scorched the Far Top corner of RGB's Net who all Appaulded the goal Respectively. End Score RGBs 8 Cats 1.
