Dear Kevin,

RE: Application for FA Umbro National Futsal Youth Festival

Firstly, may I thank you for your recent application for a place at the FA Umbro National Futsal Youth Festival.  The level of interest that we received in this year’s National Futsal Youth Festival was unprecedented and helps to reflect the rapid and continuing growth of the game across England.  The FA are keen to encourage and promote the development of Futsal, but we at the Football Association are unable to develop the game on our own: we need the continuing support and assistance from people like yourselves to further grow and establish Futsal into the English sporting fabric.

I am delighted to confirm that you have been successful in being awarded 1 place in the following age categories at the FA National Futsal Youth Festival 2009:

  • U10 Boys
  • U12 Boys

The FA National Futsal Youth Festival will be held on the 27th & 28th June at the English Institute for Sport in Sheffield:

Boys and Girls U10 & U12 competition is on Saturday 27th June.

Boys and Girls U14 & U16 competition is on Sunday 28th June.

We would require your team's) to be onsite and to have checked in by 9:30am.  This is the latest time that teams can register on both days.  There will be a Manager’s Briefing at 9:45am on both days that we would encourage the manager of each team to attend.

Unfortunatly Lindsey School, who have had a great championship record and Kent St u/16's who have competed with the best have not been offered a place at this years finals.  I know Lindsey are really disapointed as they have supported futsal from the days when the FA was grasping for participants.  2009 has marked a turning point for the competition with the FA having double the number of teams applying for spaces available.

Pictures show Lindsey School at Championships 2008 with FA Cup, Sir Trevor Brooking presented team medals.
