The request from team managers 'that goal keepers must throw and not kick the ball from hands,' is reaping benefits. Goal keeper distribution has improved 100% and as a consequence the outfield players have raised their game to assist the goal keepers. All eight teams on the night impressed with some brilliant passing and creative passing. Particularly so as this was the first week back after a month futsal break.
Stable mates Little Devils and Elite looked different teams from the ones that started the league, both recording wins, but most importantly raising their game to 2010 level when they dominated the league.
Futsal Panthers hit Fusion Colts for six. A big disappointed for Fusion and how they bounce back will be interesting for the younger less experinced Fusion players. Panthers have hit the top with a huge goal difference compared to chasing pack, all that can alter, we have not hit the half way stage yet.
GSC Dynamite and YMCA was 0-0 at half time with Spartans spurning opportunities on gaol. Second half GSC showed how to take chances, and backed by a stupendous keeping display (See Picture) ran out winners.
Elite did not have their own way against a Discoveries team that will snatch a result soon. Mistakes by defenders caught in possession was punished by Elite. Discoveries have to eliminate these costly errors, in a close 4-2 game, they are the difference between a point and defeat.
Red Dragons and Liitle Devils served up a futsal 'fest.' 2-2 at half time, it was impossible to predicate a winner, the game was that close. If anything LD's had edged the half, but Red Dragons had a cutting edge that was always stretching LD's defence. The second half contradicted itself, Dragons upped their game, and for 15 minutes bossed the game, then like a boxer on the ropes until the last round, LD's got a second breath and scored with a knock out punch.
Compulsive viewing.
