Sunday 5th September FC Grimsby played East Coast Futsal in a final warm up game prior to the FA National Futsal Cup which commences weekend Friday 10th.  The game is at the Bonus Arena (formerly Gemtec Arena) kicked off 3-30PM. FC Grimsby played some of their best futsal for a long time, they needed to as East Coast had recently been on an Italian tour playing some highly rated Italian opposition. Grimsby fitness, technical play and experience was to much for East Coast as they ran out 9-3 winners (5-1 at h/t).

Mathew Payne, Danny Hornigold, Gavin Broughton, Liam Bostock, Peter Schoefield and Ben Mortlock have to be applauded for their fitness and ability to keep the team in shape for 50 minutes of play against opponents who had a full bench of players. High quality performances from all every player was needed and was delivered.
