The final game of the season was marred by a serious accident in an innocent coming together of two players.

Alex Lynn rushed out of his goal to defend a one on one situation and collided with opponent Bradley Harrison of Discoveries.

No foul was called.

Alex ended up in Louth hospital with a broken arm, Bradley Grimsby General with cracked ribs.

A bizarre accident in a game that is proud of its low injury record.

The league’s best wishes go out to both players.

Discoveries have improved out of all recognition since Christmas; wins have been elusive, solid performances have been the norm.

To rattle Elite and take them as close as 3-1 verifies all the good work done by the teams coaches and players off the court.

Both teams were unrecognisable from game one. Yes progress is made by just playing and getting older, but the progress of these two teams is more significant than that.

Players was always looking to pass and build up play, kick and rush was never an option.  Every player offered the game something, technique, attitude, creating space, time on the ball, every facet of play was on display. Add to that three shots that rattled the cross bar, shots that men would have been proud of.

A credit to the league.

A delighted Elite having won League.
