Linconshire County FA Football League.

Harvest 10 Heckington 1

shane_garvey_web.jpgHarvest rang the changes for their game at Heckington with no fewer than five changes from the team that beat leaders Ruston two weeks ago. It proved a worthwhile exercise with Harvest winning 10-1.

The first came after eight minutes when striker Dale Mason played fellow front-man Daniel Durosemo through and he beat the keeper with a low drive.

Five minutes later Durosemo returned the favour, beating his marker when Heckington were appealing for offside saw Durosemo square the ball across the goal for Mason to slam the ball home.

It was now Harvest attacking at will with the pace of Durosemo and Mason being a constant thorn in the Heckington side.

On twenty minutes Harvest increased their lead when Shane Garvie (picture) latched onto a Freddie Cass through ball, although Garvie was brought down he reacted quickest and got up the race clear and steer the ball home. Harvest was attacking at every opportunity and it was no surprise when Durosemo added a fourth when he chipped the ball over the oncoming keeper after great work by Aaron Goodwin. Not to be outdone Mason added his second when he latched onto a clearance from keeper Ashley Kiff to volley the ball home.

Heckington pulled a goal back on the stroke of half-time when keeper Kiff somehow misjudged the spin of the ball and promptly dropped it into his own net!

The second half saw a more determined Heckington come at Harvest but the back four of A.Goodwin, K.Barwick, N.Goodwin and skipper Kirk Wheeler were standing firm. It was twenty minutes before Harvest netted again when Mason netted a Garvie corner. Minutes later it was Garvie on the score sheet again when he broke clear of the Heckington off-side trap to round the keeper before slotting home into an empty net. Harvest then replaced N.Goodwin and Jon Oglseby with Luke Marshall and Gareth Beecham, it was Beecham who set up the next Harvest goal, he broke down the right and crossed for Garvie to seal his hat-trick as he swept the ball home Two minutes later Mason broke clear and laid the ball into the path of Garvie to net his fourth. By this time it was target practise for Harvest and they ended the scoring when midfielder Freddie Cass drove home through a crowded goalmouth.

The quality of this perfornace should be measured against a very good Heckington team that had previouslt taken Harvest to extra time in the County Cup.

Final Result Heckington 1 - 10 Harvest FC.

Harvest team; Ashley Kiff, Nico Goodwin, Aaron Goodwin, Kurt Barwick, Kirk Wheeler (Capt.), Freddie Cass, Dale Mason, Daniel Durosemo, Danny Hornigold, Jon Oglesby, Shane Garvie. Subs; Gareth Beecham, Luke Marshall, Matt Bryant.
