Unbeaten in 8 matches All Blacks looked to have the league in the bag; particularly as last week’s draw with second place Harvest had taken the sting out of the Harvest momentum.

Harvest vs. Shamrock, Premier League (10/3/08)

Would Gunners Watch be next on the hit list?  Early play suggested yes, all the All Blacks have fast feet and a trick or two, an early goal settled them.  Rallied by captain Danny Powers Gunners kept doggedly to the task, slowing the pace when in possession seeking to find Bobby Lewsham in 1 on 1 situation with a defender.  Twice Bobby beat his man on a sixpence and followed with rocket shots that only he can master off virtually no back lift.  Leigh Graves in the Black’s goal got a hand to both without every seriously challenging a save such was the power.

Ryan Milson (GW) keeper had probably his best game of futsal saving shots that could have seen his team out of the game by half time.  This rubbed off on his team who sensed All Blacks could not shackle Mr Lewsham and he would find the net again.

With no disrespect intended the game became a tactical battle between the artistry of All Blacks and the resilience of the Gunners defence, with Mr Lewsham the loose cannon.

At 4-3 and with 10 minutes left a Blacks equaliser looked on the cards, they had done it more than once before this season, Gunners were hanging in there; ‘Aussie and ‘Skoda’ tracked and chased every move, covered by last man Powers; Bobby Lewsham was forced to deep to be a danger.  With a minute left they broke out of the trenches, a clever lobbed ball to ‘Skoda,’ one touch and All Blacks unbeaten record had gone.

In the other games Fulstow retrieved another lost cause from several goals behind to draw with the last kick of the game, 9-9 with Young’s.  Craig Norman netting 5 for Young’s.  Harvest II beat Catalonia, with Catalonia again waiting until behind to lift their game. 7-4. Like Fulstow if they opened as well as they finished they would be at the opposite end of the table.  Harvest scored gaols from all positions, whilst Shamrock was forced into snatched shots. 6-1.
