Lions Pride 0 Red Dragons 9

Red Dragons keep pressurising the leaders in a highly commendable fourth place, one slip by Fusion Colts and it could be third. Watch this space.  Nine without reply against Lions Pride is a great result by any-one's standards.  Lions Pride new signings to strengthen squad? Rumours or fact?  Another space to watch.

Little Devils 2 Futsal Panthers 8

By all accounts Little Devils performed far better than the final score line suggests.  Futsal Panthers will be delighted with the win that takes them three points clear at the top.

Elite 6 Futsal Tigers 1

Not such a huge shock, Elite have steadily improved over past games.  All the team getting involved in attack rather than two players sitting in defence not supporting the front men.  Tyreece revelation for Elite, broke up Tigers attacks more than any other Elite player then responded with some great attacking, culminating in a ferocious shot against the bar.  This loss leaves Tigers three points off stable mates Panthers at the top of the table.

YMCA 6 GSC Dynamite 3

No surprise that YMCA led at half time, they have been there before, closing games out has been the big problem.  This time it looked different, 3-0 being a good lead accumulated by fast counter attack goals.  Dynamite pulled gaols back and the YMCA second half hoodoo was in the air, fortunately further breaks restored the three goal lead.  Achilles heel for YMCA, failure to score from shooting positions, power shoots in training become half volleys in matches.  That said progress is being made by leagues newcomers.

There was an incident in one game which I do not want to dwell on as I do not have the full facts.

Enough to say parents and players must respect match officials at all times.  No matter what is perceived by players or spectators referees will give a decision based on what they see from their viewpoint.  Everyone at a game will have a different viewpoint of the same incident.  Hence all the LAWS of the game end in the quotation ‘in the referee’s opinion.’

If a manager, parent, player has a problem or query just call me 07980 286663 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it   I wear two hats, one league organiser the other league welfare officer.

Thanks to the team managers, and parents that have offered comment on the above incident.  Everyone has approached the 'error of judgment' in an adult way. Anyone that behaved improperly has apologised.  Lessons have been learnt.  KB
