Monday Premier League

Gunners were struggling for a team, at 7 they were all smiles after inflicting Fulstow first defeat.    7-5

Eagles had Magpies rattled to half time, after the break there were signs of the old Magpies.   6-1

College played some great stuff, real futsal, pulling All Blacks all over the pitch.      5-1

Tuesday Division II

A much improved Auditorium made it look easy in shock win over ACD.   6-4

Nothing changes, Harvest just too good for division. Centaur just could not get started.   12-2

Dale Spalding outstanding in Magpies goal as CFKA once again involved in game of the night.  3-1 behind they pull back to 5-5.

Piemonte play or crash.  This week it was great passing and movement to take Thorpe Park apart.    16-4

Grimsby Baptist were under strength, but that cannot take away the fact that StreetSoccer have learnt how to turn good play into results.    7-0

Wednesday Division III

PB Kent and Expressions had not won in last 5.  Expressions have now.   7-2

KBFC recorded progress in a game 2nd placed Second Avenue were expected to walk away with.   4-2

Daz Clark, (on run up the league), met FC Coventry (on a similar down ward run).   DC are still moving up.   5-3

Kent Street League

Nelson have put together a team that is real championship material, watch this space.  Grimsby Futsal just blown away.   16-3

Littlefields, with 9 points from 4 games, are a surprise package.  Aspels did not have enough fire power.    9-4

O’s join league with a steady win over Futsal Warriors.    11-5

Did Wizards not perform or AFC Snoop stepping up a gear?   5-1

Everglaze lost to a team most will suffer against (Kent St).   17-1

Friendly Matches

Old rivals StreetSoccer and StreetSoccer Milan played out a most unfriendly game.  StreetSoccer win 3-2.

Rose & Crown and Baptist played on Monday so it had to be a draw.   3-3

Harvests FC just keep on steam rolling teams; Thorpe Park took the brunt this week. Harvest moved past the 100 goal tally at 13 unbeaten.   11-2

CFKA again involved in game of the night.  1-1, 2-1, 3-1 down, 3-2, 4-2, 4-3, 5-3, 5-4 and a grandstand finish to rob Piemonte.  Great game in freezing conditions.   6-5

Magpies make it 3 wins, for what has been for them a disastrous season.  Gy Auditorium was the victims as they struggle to stop a free fall in form.   7-2

Wednesday Division III

Heta FC keep on improving.  Expressions suffer. 9-7

FC Coventry just can’t buy a result since Christmas.  Hemswell have gone the opposite way with a burst of form.    4-3

Second Avenue
Monday Premier League
Great start continues…………….
Gunners top after 2 matches.  College 2001 kept them down to 2 goals but unusually recorded a blank on the offence.      2-0

Grimsby Catalina performed without new signing PG and still recorded a sound win.  Can they keep it up?  Eagles lost a key player through a last man foul, adding to the squad pressure.      7-3

Two weeks on the trot magpies have recorded 4-4 draws.  This time a reshaped squad brilliantly led by Craig Ashworth had to claw back from -3 with 10 minutes on the clock.      4-4

Second Avenue
Tuesday Division II
Second Avenue

Harvest FC in a different class destroys Grimsby Baptist Church.  One team expected to take Harvest close was Baptist.  Best it happened to Baptist as they will regroup and challenge again.       16-1

Referee Kirk Russell had two games of the night to savoir.  Magpies II 1 Piemonte 1, 2-2, 3-3.  What football is all about?

Not to be outdone CFKA and ACD served up another treat.  1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 2-3, 3-3, 3-4.  Credit to ACD who are clinging onto top placed Harvest FC.  One Harvest slip and massive goal difference or not ACD would be top!

Wednesday Division III

FC Coventry still recovering from Christmas, Young's extend lead at top.    9-1

Daz Clarke v Expressions two unpredictable teams.  Daz Clark perform to their capabilities this week.   13-3

PB Kent beat Heta FC comfortably but, Heta claim points as PB used to unsigned players due to illness and injury.

Kent Street League

Kent St Resource Centre win first ever Kent St Futsal League. [smile][grin][lol][tongue][cool]

League I went down to the wire.  In the last game of 18 for both teams Freeman St. ran out comfortable winners over the Football Wizards.  Freeman St won 16 and Wizards 15 matches for the season.       10-3

League II newcomers Kyle’s All Stars secured their first points deny fellow newcomers FC Snoop.  4-0

Experience came in useful for FC Nelson as third newcomers Littlefields gained valuable experience.      6-4

Humbertherm are recording the results they have always threatened, Evergalze being the fall guys.       12-0

Would be nice for the UK to have  a few facilities like the one shown.  We are after all supposed to be one of the worlds great economies. [confused]

Second Avenue
Monday Premier League
Cracking start to a new league.
Gunners Watch comfortably beat Young’s Seafood’s. Young’s were below full strength and this hampered their ability to compete.  Gunners Bobby Lewsham had a major influence on the game.   7-2

Eagles made Fulstow Rovers fight every inch of the way for their last gasp victory, an Eagles goalkeeping blunder after an otherwise brilliant performance. Eagles had previously finished 3rd in the Kent St. League   6-5

Paul Goodhand made his first appearance for Grimsby Catalonia and was the difference in another game that went down to the wire.  All Blacks will not lose many games.   6-5

Magpies keeper ‘Dale’ pulled off a stunning last kick save to maintain Magpies 30+ games without defeat record.  Who holds the record?  Opponents College 2001.  The game was the last game of the FA Futsal Cup Qualifying League from which Magpies qualified with an otherwise 100% record.   4-4

Second Avenue
Tuesday Division II
Piemonte did what others have failed to do, slow down the Harvest goal flow.    1-4

ACD got out of the traps fast, led 5-0, and then went their shells allowing Magpies II to recover to 5-3.

Thorpe Park v CFKA game of night. 1-1, 2-2, 3-3, and then CFKA nick a late goal.   4-3

Wednesday Division III
Second Ave move second top, at the same time stopping FC Coventry’s 6 with out loss.   6-2

Hemswell keep pressure on leaders with crucial win over Expressions.   10-4

Heta continue to struggle at the base, 4 goals against Daz Clark is a positive sign.   9-4

Young's Seafood's picked up default points after LOB failed to show.  They have been replaced in the league by Willows FC.

Kent Street League
Newcomers Kyle’s’ All Stars keep the score tight against the vastly more experienced Nelson FC; the eventual winners.   7-4

Second newcomers AFC Snoop got even closer to StreetSoccer Milan, but not close enough.    4-3

Third newcomers Littlefield’s FC did win experienced Humbertherm being the fall guys.   10-7

Paul Goodhand leaves Nicol Magpies!!!
Written by Kevin Bryant
Friday, 05 January 2007
It is intended as a one league season loan.  If he can lead Grimsby Catalonia to the title he will be the first player to win titles with 3 teams.  To date Paul has accomplished the feat with GCLS & Magpies.

Kevin Bryant has accepted the task of managing Magpies in an attempt to improve on the solid results they have already recorded at the FA National Finals.

Grimsby All Blacks & Eagles have joined the Monday Premier league, not a place for the feint hearted footballer.

Who will win League X.  Magpies are favourites, after that it's anyone from 7 for second place.  With Harvest arriving at end of Tuesday league the Premier fixtures have a real glow about them.

40 youngsters watch England v France
Written by Kevin Bryant
Sunday, 24 December 2006
Wednesday December 20th

A coach left Kent Street Resource Centre with 40 children and adult to watch England v France at the superb English Institute of Sport at Sheffield.  A facility 100 times superior to anything we have locally.

The adults include futsal players, referees, coaches and school teachers.  For 95% of these this was their first time to experience indoor futsal.  I don’t think they were disappointed.

The FA built the games up with a great mixture of disco lights and music.

The game did not disappoint.  England took an early lead, a lead lost just before half time after heavy French pressure.  Early in the second half France took the lead and no matter how England tried they could not salvage an equalizer.

On the previous night France had won 4-2.

Time does not allow me to elaborate more.

A big thanks to Rob Parry of NELC who organized the trip.

The LFA have still not made any future plans to train local refs to be qualified in FUTSAL. This shows that the teams have had to affiliate to the LFA but the LFA arn't willing to supply training for the game to be controlled in occordance with the FA. Thus the question, Why are the teams affiliated at all???
If the referee's arn't recognised by the county, then why referee? If i wanted to report a player, would the report be followed through and the player discplined? If the referee isn't qualified then he/she not be reffing at all. With CRB check/Child protecion a big part of being a qualified ref, surely its a must that all referees have these elements to practice refereeing.
I asked the question to a LFA training officer and the response was that Futsal was not a priority within this county at this present time and would enquire further with regards to my question. Which was "Is there going to be a FUTSAL course running in this county or do i have to attend one in hull or further a field?" If there is no form of progression for the officials, how are we suppose to develop for the better? Surely this needs to be addressed by the Grimsby Futsal league and finally get the training and cover its needs to ensure protection for the referees that officate on the league un qualified in FUTSAL.

StreetSoccer Move off Bottom Division II

Second Avenue
Monday Premier League
Magpies made it 11 wins, 100% record, with an 8-5 win over Gunners Watch.
A Mark Huntley hat trick being the difference.

Because of work and injuries Caistor have reluctantly pulled out of the league.  With only 1 game left and a valuable history with the league no fines will be imposed.  It does mean some seriously capable futsal players are on the market.

Second Avenue
Tuesday Division II
Christmas came early for the improving StreetSoccer lads, 8 in a game must be a team record.  Rose & Crown managed 4 in reply.

In the unbeaten head to head ACD opened up an immediate 2-0 lead against Harvest FC.  From that point Harvest played some brilliant futsal to finish 10-2.  ACD gave 100%. As would be expected of a Karl Stratton team.

Game of the night was Grimsby Baptist Church 5 Magpies 4.  Some great futsal as each team tested the others resilience.  4-4 until the last touch of the game ended in the Maggie’s net.

Apologies to Grimsby Auditorium and CFKA.  A new caretaker switched the lights off at 9pm, not 9.30 as booked, and refused to allow teams to finish the game.  What a way to look after customers.  My feelings have been relayed to the Centre.

Second Avenue
Wednesday Division III
Young’s go top with 2-1 win over Second Ave, who themselves had stepped in to play for Lindsey Old Boy’s who cancelled at short notice.  Young’s claimed the Lindsey result.

Hemswell & Heta took each other the full distance in a close 8-7 thriller.

FC Coventry, 6 without loss, kept in touch with leaders at PB Kent’s expense.  5-2.

Daz Clark comfortably beat ACD de Saloa 7-5.  The score line flattering ACD.  Game spoiled by childish ACD behavior over who should take a turn in goal.  Come on lads your in the working world not ‘play school,’

Kent Street League
Only 2 games played.  StreetSoccer Milan lost 8-2 to Kent St resource Centre, an excellent result as Kent is seriously good at futsal.

Football Wizards 8 Nelson FC 3.  Nelson made Wizards work for their win.

Wizards & Kent St both have 1 game left to play.  Kent is top of the table over Wizards on goal difference.  Watch this space.

Friendly Matches
Grimsby All Blacks 6 young’s Seafood’s 3.
Fulstow Rovers 4 Grimsby Catalonia 2

Nicol Magpies Qualify for 3rd FA National Futsal Finals

Second Avenue
Monday Premier League
Magpies qualified for a third FA Futsal Cup Finals at Sheffield.  16 teams qualify nationally, the teams play a ‘world cup’ format over 3 days.  Their 6-2 win over Young’s Seafood’s was capped by a Denial Hornigold stunner.

Fulstow Rovers lifted recent indifferent form to see off the resurgent Grimsby Catalonia 6-3.

Second Avenue
Tuesday Division II
Thorpe Park 4 Rose & Crown 2 was a lower half of the table 6 pointer that lifted Thorpe into the top half of the table.

Harvest FC kept up their impressive played 9 won 9 record with a comprehensive 9-2 stroll against StreetSoccer.

Grimsby Auditorium scored 2 in the first 5 minutes and were then pegged bag for 35!  Magpies II pulled a goal back fought to equalise and then lost out to a late 3rd goal.

Centaur found themselves 6-4 in front against leaders ACD.  At which point, as good teams do, ACD pulled up their socks and ran away with the game 16-6.  The Achilles heel of every Robbo/Lill team (Centaur) - attention to defense.

In an end game that could have gone either way, two experienced teams Piemonte and Grimsby Babtist Church, battled end to end with Pie’ eventually falling over the finishing line 7-5.

Second Avenue
Wednesday Division III
With minutes to go Second Ave 5 Young’s Seafood’s 5; Kirk Russell .returns to the pitch and snatches 2 goals and the game for Second Ave.

Lindsey Old Boys score some great goals to beat PB Kent 6-2.

ACD de Saloa too much futsal knowledge for HETA. 14-3.

Game of the night Daz Clark 10 Expressions 6.

Kent Street League

Eagles 7-4 win over Nelson FC means a 3rd place finish for Eagles.

At mid day Sid (Humbertherm) had let be known he had his strongest team to date to play Kent St. that evening.  At the same time Kent St had a team falling apart with injuries.  Lose and Kent St would hand the title to Football Wizards.  Kent St got the walking wounded out and scraped for an 11-6 win.  A Football Wizards show down will decide title with the leagues final game.

A tight 4-1 StreetSoccer Milan win takes them to 4th from bottom, not bad for a team cemented at the bottom for half the season.

Bottom placed Everglaze have a grievance as second bottom Futsal Warriors have benefited from 6 awarded points when opponents have cancelled at late notice.  Thankfully a practice that rarely occurs, attendances throughout the league have been brilliant.  Bad weather, televised football, ‘town’ matches; teams have got out there and challenged themselves.

Friendly Matches
Grimsby All Blacks continued their impressive run of friendly games.  Their biggest test to date saw them beat College 2001 7-5.  Star player every time, Wisam Tafari.

Grimsby Futsal League
Wednesday, November 29, 2006

Second Avenue
Monday Premier League
Young's vs. Gunners Watch started off the evenings Futsal résumé. Young's weren't at their best with Gunners dominating most of the game with Danny Powers being influential from the back. Gunners pulled off an 8-3 victory which was thoroughly deserved.

Grimsby Catalonians’ matched College 2001 with determination and resilience to earn a 2-2 draw.  College needed a win to stand any chance of clawing back top team Magpies.

Magpies didn’t get out of second gear against a Caistor side which was lacking match practice.  An 8-0 victory for Magpies saw a struggling Caistor off with ease.  Magpies 100% record unassailable?  Almost 30 league games since last defeat.

Second Avenue
Tuesday Division II
Matt Bryant keeps another Harvest FC clean sheet.  Only 9 goals conceded in 8 matches is credible in eleven aside, more so in five aside when scoring opportunities are multiplied tenfold.  Grimsby Auditorium struggled to get into the game; Harvest scored 6.

Thorpe Park 2 Magpies II 3. The game would have been 2-2 had the referee blown his whistle seconds earlier, it was that close. The game was a credit to booth teams.

ACD 6 Piemonte 4 flatters Piemonte.  That said they should be given credit for clawing themselves back into a game that at one stage was running away from them.

Rose & Crown 7 Centaur 1.  An important win for R&C as it lifted them a place up the league whilst cementing Centaur to the bottom.  Centaur needs a couple of younger players to add to their undoubted experience.  ‘Robbo’ 07877534290 if you want a game?

Second Avenue
Wednesday Division III
With minutes to go Second Ave 5 Young’s Seafood’s 5; Kirk Russell .returns to the pitch and snatches 2 goals and the game for Second Ave.

Lindsey Old Boys score some great goals to beat PB Kent 6-2.

ACD de Saloa too much futsal knowledge for HETA. 14-3.

Game of the night Daz Clark 10 Expressions 6.

Kent Street League

Kent St 12 Everglaze 3.  Brings title race down to a Kent St V Warriors shoot out!

Humbertherm back on track with back to back wins.  Nelson FC being the fall guys 9-5.  Bad result for Nelson who was just putting a run together.

Friendly Matches
Newly formed Grimsby All Blacks was very impressive in their meeting against Fulstow. This game was the best of the evening with a proficient and capable display from both teams. The second half held the best spell for the All Blacks with them beating Fulstow 7-3.

Kent St and Wizards tested each other out with a strong work out. 9-5 Kent St.

Eagles stepped in to play Futsal warriors and had just too much futsal class and experience.  18-4.

A restricted two game programme.  Due to a catalogue of injuries Caistor have fielded a completely new team for the last 3 games.  That they managed to hold Fulstow Rovers to 4-4 was a major surprise.

Grimsby Catalonia may have lost 6-3 to Nicol Magpies, but they are getting closer.  They were in the game up to half time (0-1) but conceded as they tried to push Magpies back.  The fact the Magpies did not play well was due to Catalonia’s growing resilience.
Second Avenue
Tuesday Division II
CFKA have found a new gear after assisting Caistor in a division higher.  Rose & Crown looked to have turned a corner but CFKA have set them back a step. 9-2

Harvest FC is ‘reaping’ the goals. To date no one in the division has got close to them.  StreetSoccer would be first to admit 9-1 could have been worse.

Centaur and Grimsby Auditorium are inconsistent; what would happen when the two met. Slightly against form Centaur ran out 8-5 winners.

Grimsby Babtist Church v Thorpe Park looked on paper a tough game for booth teams; and so it proved.  2-2 after 40 minutes of keenly fought five aside is testimony to the battle.

Wednesday Division III
Games being played as reports went to press.

Kent Street League
Kent St FC by all reports put in the performance of the week, beating the highly rated Grimsby Bears 11-2.  Every goal being like goal dust to them as they chase Football Wizards for the title; which looks like going down to the last game.

Humbertherm beat Everglaze by the odd goal in 13.  The league is falling into halves.  The top 5 being competitive against each other and the bottom 5 similar.

Eagles and StreetSoccer played a game that the result will count for League II.  The score 17-7 to Eagles.

Friendly Matches
Grimsby All Blacks v Nelson FC
All Blacks continue to record impressive results.  12-5 may have flattered them as the goal was close until the late stages.
