WILLOWS VALIANT WIN AND LOSE TO ALL BLACKS IN SAME GAME? |

Willows Valiant 7 Vs. All Blacks 2
|
GRS 1 Vs Franklin College 4
|
Willows Vs All Blacks cup game, penalty replay.
|
Willows Valiant went into this game needing to to win and with a point
to prove & a score to settle, All Blacks couldn't contain the likes
of Variants Gav Schofield & Jason Chisnall. (DG)
|
Franklin outplayed & out thought an organised strong GRS team.
Franklin's Dan Brown's quick feet & Tom hardy with an excellent
individual goal sealed GRS's fate. (DG)
|
All Blacks won 5 - 4 after star man Danny Durosamo failed to score from the spot with crucial tenth shot. (DG)
Danny will not like me reminding him that he has done same for FC
Grimsby and Harvest FC in past. Great player, but 50/50 when he takes a
penalty, or am I being harsh (KB).
|
Why a penalty replay?
To cut a long story short a player took 2 penalties for his team during his teams first 5 penalties. This in first game. This situation was caused by a player injury-incurred during shoot out. A billion to one situation not covered in the games LAWS. The result of the shoot out was appealed, taxing the best futsal brains.
A retake was agreed by both teams.
No team or referee broke any ruling to bring us to such a challenged situation. (KB)

NEWTON HEATH TAKE THIRD WEDNESDAY TITLE |

Newton Heath 5 Grimsby Soccer Club 0
Grimsby Soccer Club can take satisfaction that made Newton
Heath work for every goal. The game was
approaching the break before Newton took the lead.
The work of the two goal keepers illustrated the flow of the
game; GSC keeper making a series of stunning saves whilst Newton keeper was
under worked.
Newton Champions for third time, who can stop a fourth?
|
Blaine FC 4 GRS All Stars 3
GRS opened up an early 2-0 lead with two great goals; Blaine
looked to be on the wrong end of a hiding at this point. Blaine replied and then dropped back to a two
goal deficit. A second Blaine goal took
the game to GRS 3 Blaine 2 at half time, slightly flattering Blaine.
Blaine improved after break, levelled, went ahead and then
closed the game. Blaine looked most dangerous
at the end of the game when GRS was forced to chase game.
|
AFC Trawlermen 6 Pilgrims 3
Pilgrims needed to improve on last week’s performance if
they were to have a chance against the Trawlermen. They improved greatly. Trawlermen put in, by
their standards, a misfiring performance.
Pilgrims looked, up to half time, to be in with a real
chance of a win that thought dissipated the longer the game went on. Trawlermen
eventually ran out safe winners.

Not unusual for Saxons to lose bur unusual for team to not score.
Scartholonia have moved up two notches and the improvement continue?
|
Newton have expressed a problem, every game they are playing Steve
Goodwin seems to be the opposition goal keeper. Rightly they ask ' if
they can field a GK, why can't other teams?' Fair point?
Other teams are not expressing this problem as they are glad of Steve's assistance. Your comments

Back to the football, this was a game that under normal circumstances
Newton would have won easily and tied up the Championship, the fact that
they draw was singularly down to SG's exceptional goal keeping,
including a penalty save.
|
GRS battled but was always chasing a strong Trawler-men side who passed
and moved the ball quickly, using the full court to stetch GRS to
breaking point. GRS did have chances but needed to take them all to
have got close to the Trawler-men. Feature of the game was number of
power shots that beat goal keepers to hit goal post and bar. |
PS.
SG goal keeping. By playing every night as often as he can SG has greatly improved himself as a GK.
He has been recommended to East Coast Futsal in FA National League.

GSC Dynamite temporarily top....... |

Discoveries 1 GSC Dynamite 10
Did not get to watch full game, phases of play I did see did not look like a nine goal trouncing. Difference between teams was in the finishing, Dynamite was Dynamite. Discovery half chances most often was thwarted by sharp goal keeping.
Click the continue button Dynamite and the table was as you said, Dynamite top!
|
Fusion 3 YMCA Spartans 1
Coming into the league late is proving a weekly challenge for YMCA team. That said team accept the challenge and are enjoying trying to catch the more established teams. A 3-1 defeat to Fusion is a positive for YMCA.
The effort YMCA put in to keep Fusion off their usual smooth passing game, left them-short of energy to counter attack.
|
Little Devils 5 Futsal Tigers 2
Little Devils was back to a standard of play that has been missing for some weeks.
After four straight wins Tigers have recorded back to back losses.
|
Futsal Panthers 4 Elite 2
Panthers played as a team on top of the table, not a team in the bottom half.
They controlled the game from start to finish.
It is great credit to Elite that they kept with them and managed to score a couple themselves.

Solar girls team win National Finals at Birmingham. |

Futsal Finals 2nd July 2011 Girls Under 12’s National Finals.
Birmingham Futsal Arena
The Solar girls’ team had won through the regional finals in convincing style and looked forward to the finals in Birmingham.
Their first game was against Painsley High School. After three minutes Solar scored, followed by another two before having a goal put past the keeper, the girls seamed to be in the right frame of mind, winning 3 - 1.
In the next game they played Frances Bardsley School, unfortunately the girls were in for a shock as they lost 1 – 2; our goal came from a run through the centre.
Our third game we came up against Flixton Girls School, unfortunately loosing 1 – 2. Our goal was an absolute screamer of a goal from our half straight into the goal through a group of players.
The final game of the league was against Kirk Balk Community College. The Solar girls took the game to them and won 2 – 0. Goals coming from a very long strong shot from inside our half and the second from a lovely run and finish in the top right hand corner.
We had now won two and lost two and had to wait for the results of other teams to see if we were travelling home now or playing in a semi final.
After a tense wait we were through and had everything to play. The Semi final was against Kingsdown School, we scored first with a ball slipped past the keeper and this relaxed the team, but then they scored. Shortly after a nice move saw the ball hit the net to finish the game 2 – 1.
So here we were in the Final by shear chance and a little good fortune. We started the game against a very strong Flixton Girls School team, the game was very close and they pressured but we countered and with three minutes to go Solar got the winner, every one was on edge, could we hold on? The girls played their hearts out to defend; then the whistle went the relief was unbelievable. They had won.

Humberstone unstoppable school year 8/9 tournament |

Humberstone Futsal Juniors
|
Humberstone won the tournament with a style and panache above their
years. Added to a mix of excellent players was the ability to play and
understand futsal that gave the team an added dimension.
The team improvement since I last saw the team was immense, the
results over three tough opponents suggest the team has taken the bar to
a new higher level.
Knowing the opposition they will have been stung, everyone will want to beat Humberstone.
Special word for new team, Crowland Crusaders, four goals adrift
after the first four attacks I feared the worst. The team could have
collapsed and gone home, they stayed, reorganised, tried new tactics,
learnt off the opposition and will, when they have played more games, be
a real asset to this age group.
Watch this space there will be more games next week with added teams.

Limited Tuesday programme due to junior tournament
Willows Valiant 4 Vs. Trawl 3
|
Clee Wanderers 7 Vs G.R.S 1
|
| |
The game started with both teams playing some disciplined futsal, With
good possession play from both teams, Valiant denied by trawl keeper
countless times that could of ended in double figures, Variants Danny
Durosamo & Trawls Scott Gittens the difference. |
Clee wanderers hit the ground running & have clearly hit form, Their
positional movement in behind the keeper made it difficult for G.R.S to
defend against, G.R.S managed a consolation goal for their efforts. |
