Grimsby Saxons pick up first points |

Saxons went into Wednesday fixture with 6 straight defeats, asked to
play back to back games they could easily have said 1 is enough, as it
was the team accepted the challenge and was richly rewarded. 4-2
against AFC Trawl was a sound start, but then to beat 3rd placed Heta
(5-3) was a real bonus.
Wednesday League teams have everything to play for as teams are
already causing each other problems, the top 3 Inter, Expressions, and
Heta have all won 4 games each, but all dropped points. The only team
with a 100% record - Harvest have no games under their belt.
Tuesday is as tight, just look at these 4 mouth watering fixtures on one night.
El Dogoes v Auditorium
Littlefields v Paragon
Wolf Wanderers v Globetrotters
StreetSoccer v Whakker
Littlefields look the only stone wall favorites, but without Callum Blythe this could well change.
Monday night's Premier League is just warming up with teams having each
played an uneven number of games; Fulstow Rovers and Harvest are the
only teams 100%. Fulstow are playing with attitude, watch this
space..............

My apologies to Kent Street teams for problems that are beyond my control. Tuesday 4 teams would have arrived to find the no referees and the lights off. The lights never went on! Kent Street management have been having ongoing problems with the floodlights that have recently been repaired, unfortunately when they were switched on on Tuesday nothing happened. By the time I got to know about the problem it was to late to stop teams travelling, my apologies. I am told the problem is major but that I will be updated daily as to progress, first 2 games we can play in current day light, the second 2 are the problem. Watch this space for updates.

Babtist Take a Rest from Futsal - Well not really!! |

Grimsby Baptist will not be taking part in Grimsby Futsal
League Tuesday Division for League XIII; this is a great disappointment as the
team has supported the league in everything asked off them for some
considerable time.
Baptist team results have varied between very successful to
struggling, the attitude and conviction of the team has been 100% regardless of
those variations. They have been a role
model and example to everyone.
They even taught me to spell Baptist correctly, I like many
other spelled the word Babtist;
I was politely told ‘not to take the ‘p' out of Baptist's. Something
that comes to mind every time I spell the word.
This is now corrected to Baptist might not be able to compete in League XIV due to player commitments, even
this is not 100%. Baptist was giving league maximum notice which I
misunderstood. My apologies, results have been reinstated.

At the age of 9 Robinho scored 73 goals for his local futsal team Portuarios.
How many UK players same age would not know what futsal was?

FSRC win first Police Sponsored Under 16 Futsal League. |

Undefeated in 12 FSRC has a unassailable lead. With 2 games left can they remain undefeated?
FC Galacticos have pushed them close chased themselves by White Tigers.
FC Wanderers are bottom but have gained as much respect as the leaders by spirit shown in always having a team organised even though results have been unfavourable; the experience will make victory some much more sweet when it does arrive.

Referee course starts weekend 30/31st August, the Grimsby Futsal league needs referees, first stage is to pass as a full sided referee, this you then update to futsal referee. Don't think about it do it!
Details are in article below.
League recommences September 1st. Please have your team organised and ready, one unprepared team can cause knock on problems for lots of other people; poor preparation = poor performance.
Match fees are now £20 per game/ £3 per player. League venue fees have again been increased, of which little or none of money I pay out appears to find its way back to facility maintenance and improvements.
£3 a game compares well to other leagues that generally charge more to play short timed games compared to Grimsby Futsal League.
My holiday included a 1 and a half hour coach journey from Naples airport to hotel in Sorrento, how many futsal courts did I count? 17!
Sorrento FC paly in Italian 3rd division; this futsal court was part of their small ground complex.

Harvest II Come back from dead to beat Gunners Watch in great Final |
|
Written by Kevin Bryant
|
|
Saturday, 26 July 2008 |
|
Harvest II and Gunners Watch had battled through over 50 teams to reach the Final.
The result is too close to call was my pre match quote.
Gunners anticipated new signing Ben Mortlock being available to play, as
it turned out he was unavailable. Ben has represented British
Universities at futsal. Harvest has the Smith brothers who on their
day can turn any match were another pre match quotes that turned to be prophetic.
A match to saviour another quote those watching would endorse.
It was skilful; it was technical and it tested player’s mental
capabilities.

Written by Mathew Bryant

Tuesday, 15 July 2008 |
|
Harvest FC are expanding their 11v11 football section. 2007/8 the team remained unbeaten winning Saturday division 2 and the Cup. That team is now promoted to Division 1. Harvest will be replacing the division 2 team with a second development team.
Last seasons unbeaten team was built on a futsal playing base; the plan is that this continues with the development 11.
If you play futsal and want to be part of a well organised Saturday team, then please contact Mathew Bryant 07793307197.

Brain Noble takes a break from futsal refereeing |
|
Written by Kevin Bryant
|

Sunday, 13 July 2008 |
|
After several seasons off refereeing the Grimsby Futsal Premier League Brian is taking a break from refereeing futsal. His daughters' play football and Brian's time has more and more being taken up by coaching their Clee Community team. Coaching has also led Brian to a Monday night session with GTFC's School of Excellence.
I am sure everyone would like me to thank him for the excellent job he has done in a very difficult job. To referee, keep score - record foul counts, whilst marking which house a ball just landed in, whilst smiling at same time is not easy, but Brain has managed it for some considerable time.
The door is open should Brain which to reconsider his decision after a considered break.
