Match Times
Written by League Admin
Sunday, 19 October 2008
Every effort is being given to accomodate teams with prefered match times; its easy to see this is not always possible when a 6KO team plays a 8KO team.  In future if there is a conflict of interest the HOME team will have preference.

Everglaze II 13 Immingham 4. Inter Fantastic, Somercotes tame Latics,
Written by Kevin Bryant

Everglaze II is a mix of old and new players, what is different are this team will challenge at the top end of the table.  Dale’s team played some great ‘futsal,’ 1 touch, 2 touches they mixed short and long to great effect looking dangerous whenever they had the ball.

Immingham started well and then faded, to many long balls and not enough creativity throughout team.  Richard players need to know 2 basic facts, if you have ball 3 attack 1 reads the situation and defends, lose the ball and everyone is a defender.  Players were on half way line defending corners?

Have we a team that could organise and travel to France?
Written by Henin-Beaumont Futsal Secretary
Tuesday, 14 October 2008
Hello,

We are a French Futsal club located in the top north of France and the 4th of January, 2009 we will organize our International Tournament.

This tournament will group several top level French teams and we are trying to develop the international side of this event that’s why we will be really glad if you join us.

It’s a one day tournament but thanks to our two halls we can provide more game and less wait between matches.

16 teams (or 20 according the answers) will be involved in this tournament which aim is to permit European teams to compete together. German, Belgian, Dutch and Spain teams will be invited too to give to this event the biggest diversity.

For further information or specific questions, please consult the file attached and do not hesitate to contact me at: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it Even if you’re not interested, please let me know anyway to allow me to contact others teams.

I hope to hear from you soon,

Tuesday League Review
Written by Kevin Bryant
Saturday, 11 October 2008

Tuesday I decided to take in as many games as was possible at Kent Street and Second Avenue.  I started at Kent St with Willows Chinese vs. UTM.  A close tight game to half time with Willows just edging it 1-0.  Second half everything changed, Willows scored a couple, UTM had to chase the game and in doing so let themselves vulnerable to counter attack.  One exquisite touch from Shane (Willows) is worth special mention.  I long throw out was cushioned to team mate Aussie who, give the touch the respect it deserved by placing it in the back of the net.  Final score 7-3.

Inter almost made it 100% but was denied by a 9-3 loss to close rivals Kent St in second last game.

North Somercotes Academy and ECGS played out one of the best games I have seen this year, they can both take big scalps and will give no one an easy week.

Grimsby Jets & Everglaze will have several new players and are unknown quantities going into League III, which leaves the bottom 2 Futsal Warriors and Immingham, both gained points during League II so are capable of results.  Several times Warriors have looked to have turned the corner with great wins, Immingham have access to some serious futsal players; can they get them there every week?

Watch this space.

Winners awards for all competitions will be presented at Annual Presentation night during August brea

New Ferrari?
Written by Kevin Bryant
Monday, 06 October 2008

On a regular basis I get told I make a fortune from the Leagues, to the point that I start believing it and head down to test drive the latest Ferrari.

The League incurs many expenses players don't see; I got one this week that I did not anticipate; I sent a cheque to the Lincolnshire Football Association for £265 (53 team affiliation fees at £5 per team).  I received it back, would I send £530 as team affiliation has gone up to £10 per team! My previous cheque was £1200 for futsal balls!  Referee fees, venues costs, LFA League affiliation fees; anyone want a Futsal League?

Charges like this can be incorporated within the £20 match fee; just.  Failure to pay in full or cancelling games at the cost of losing both teams match fees is the thing to jeopardize having 2 officials per game.  It's down to all teams to be well organised to prevent this happening.  Teams managers are supporting me, players you need to be 100% behind your team manager, give him support, have back up players for those weeks you are short, don't leave it all to one person.

Enjoy your game.

PS> Does anyone know someone who travels to and from Birmingham with a van or lorry that could transport my purchase of futsal balls back to Grimsby, very helpful if someone could help.

New Futsal Court to Open Grimsby
Written by Kevin Bryant
Saturday, 20 September 2008

Line markings will be in place 1st October; the new venue will give greater flexibility with fixtures, unfortunately we will only have the venue initially Monday and Tuesday.  Wednesday, Thursday teams without fixtures can now be accommodated but it will mean playing odd games on a 'wrong' night.

The Council has made the repair of floodlights at Kent St a priority issue, so expect full league programme to resume soon.

More to follow.
